On Friday, April 18th, OBDC & The Hub welcomed former Olean Business Institute (OBI) staff, administration, faculty and friends to the Laine Place building entryway to unveil a series of plaques honoring OBI and The McCarthy Family.

For more than five decades, OBI played an essential role in the economic and business landscape of the Greater Olean Area, expanding from a small group of students to a peak enrollment of over 150 each year.

Through their efforts as leaders and teachers, Daniel R. and Patrick J. McCarthy had a tremendous economic, social, and academic impact on the Olean region, Southern Tier, and beyond. Their dedication, vision, and determination will long be remembered for their efforts and contributions to the business community and the lives of the people they touched.
