🐶🐱 OUR PETS ARE EXPOSED TO MORE THAN WE REALIZE.

Every day, dogs and cats come into contact with substances their bodies have to process—from air and water pollutants to pesticides, household chemicals, medications, microplastics, PFAS, heavy metals and compounds found in their food and environment.

Thankfully, their bodies already come equipped with sophisticated detoxification systems. The goal isn’t to ā€œflush toxinsā€ with a miracle cleanse—it’s to support the organs, antioxidants and biological pathways the body already uses to process and eliminate unwanted compounds.

That’s why Dr. Karen Becker formulated Liver Liftā„¢ as a multi-pathway daily detox support blend for dogs and cats.

It combines ingredients such as NAC, glycine, glutathione, milk thistle, broccoli sprouts, TUDCA, chlorella, SOD, carnosine, fulvic and humic acids—rather than relying on a single ā€œdetoxā€ ingredient.

🌱 Because we may not be able to eliminate every exposure from our pets’ lives, but we can think about how we support the systems responsible for handling them.

🐾 Did You Know Dogs Can Develop Breast Cancer Too?
Canine mammary cancer has remarkable similarities to human breast cancer. Dogs share many of the same genes, hormones, molecular pathways, and even tumor characteristics involved in human breast cancer.
Genes such as BRCA1 and BRCA2 are involved in mammary cancer in both species, while mutations such as PIK3CA have been identified in both canine and human breast tumors. Many canine mammary tumors are also influenced by estrogen and can be classified into molecular subtypes that closely resemble those seen in women.
For years, we’ve been told that spaying early is one of the best ways to prevent mammary cancer in female dogs. But when we look more closely at the evidence, newer research is challenging some long-standing assumptions. Most importantly, quick at -home exams for all female dogs should be a part of their regular body scans.
Understanding what contributes to mammary cancer in dogs helps us better understand the complex relationship between hormones, genetics, environmental exposures, nutrition, and cancer in both species.
In my newest article, I take a closer look at these fascinating connections and what the latest research means for your dog’s health. Link in comments. šŸ¶šŸ’—

Yes! Let them sniff.

Did you know one of the simplest ways to make your dog happier is to let them sniff?
A 2025 study showed that dogs who spent just two weeks doing daily nose work approached new situations with greater optimism, confidence and curiosity.
Why? Because sniffing isn’t just how dogs explore the world; I t’s how they think, solve problems, and satisfy one of their most important natural instincts.
Every walk doesn’t have to be about covering distance. Slow, strolling ā€œsniffaris,ā€ scent games, hidden treats, and nose work activities give your dog’s brain the enrichment it craves while helping reduce stress and improve emotional well-being.
Sometimes the best thing you can do for your dog’s mental health is simply giving them permission to stop... sniff... and experience the world the way nature intended. 🐾
🐾 Let your dog lead the next walk. You might be surprised how much happier you both become.
