There’s an old word for this job.

Watchman. Somebody posted on the wall through the night so that the city could sleep. He didn’t build anything. He didn’t win anything. He stayed awake and called out what he saw.

Scripture is full of them, and the point it keeps making is that the watchman isn’t the one keeping the city. He’s just the one who’s awake.

That sounds about right to us. We’re not the reason your building is standing in the morning. We’re the ones who stayed up.

Psalm 127:1 is why the second half of our name is what it is.

The friend who’s had one too many. The ex who shows up uninvited. The moment a good night starts to turn.

You want to remember the speeches, the terrible dancing, and the jokes you’ll still be repeating in ten years — not the part where you had to step in and deal with it.
