Thank you for stopping by the DCD (Dundee Creative District) Creativity Zone at Dundee Day this past weekend!

We brought the community together to create a temporary mural for the second year in row, hosted our annual Dundee Draws event, and had a button making station for attendees to create their own DCD buttons to take home with them and share their love of all things Dundee!

We also unveiled our new DCD branding and we’re excited for what’s to come in the future for upcoming art programming (more on that coming soon)!

Calling all artists!

Dundee Draws is returning to Dundee Day for another year of creativity, community, and friendly competition!

On Saturday, August 22, artists of all ages are invited to take part in this live, single-round art competition happening at 50th & Underwood. Participants will gather in a circle and have 30 minutes to create a drawing inspired by a provided subject placed at the center of the art circle.

With only 12 spots available in each division, artists are encouraged to register early for this FREE event. There will be separate youth and adult rounds, with winners selected by our judges and awarded prizes:
*1st Place: $75 gift card
*2nd Place: $50 gift card
*3rd Place: $25 gift card

Winning artwork will also have the opportunity to be displayed in the windows of local Dundee merchants along Underwood Avenue!

We’re excited to welcome this year’s judges, Valerie St. Pierre Smith and Emily Mitchell, who will help celebrate the creativity and talent of our local artists.

Artists should bring their own drawing medium (crayons, colored pencils, pastels, etc.). Paper and drawing boards will be provided, and limited supplies will be available on-site.

Ready to join the fun? Registration is required and closes August 19 (or once all 12 spots in each division are filled)!
