Her business, North End Teleservices, LLC (NET), the largest African American-owned business in the state of Nebraska and has been on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies for three consecutive years - and is showing no signs of slowing down in growth. The organization’s mission is “creating jobs and changing lives” – something NET has been accomplishing since 2015. Tapio is a servant-leader who believes in the “tremendous capacity of the human spirit and that we all have an opportunity to make a difference.” In addition to her businesses, she serves on various non-profit advisories and public boards. Her businesses have received numerous accolades for leadership, culture, and business excellence. Tapio has been recognized as the 2022 USA Today Women of the Year, Nebraska Honoree; and was inducted into the Omaha Business Hall of Fame in 2022. She is one of the International Enterprising Women of the Year for 2021 and was named on the Forbes Next 1000 list. Tapio has received numerous awards for her work as a community leader, most recently receiving the ICAN Leadership award and the 50 over 50 Lifetime Achievement award.
