As we conclude Black Business Month, we are proud to shine a spotlight on an extraordinary woman whose beauty, brilliance, and business spirit undeniably impacts Omaha, Nebraska—Mrs. Monique Louis, owner of Beauty Affair LLC.

Mrs. Louis is an incredible wife, mother, business owner, and entrepreneur, but across the city of Omaha, she is popularly known as a reputable beautician. She has mastered the art of helping women and femmes look and feel their absolute best. She doesn't simply provide beauty services; she creates an experience where women and femmes leave better than they came.

However, Beauty Affair LLC represents something even bigger than beauty. As a visionary, Monique's nobility lies in her ability to not only ideate and execute her own entrepreneurial dreams, but to create pathways for other entrepreneurs to pursue theirs also. Beauty Affair LLC has evolved beyond the traditional hair salon model into an innovative beauty incubator, offering private suite rental opportunities to beauty professionals seeking an urban and innovative professional space to “slay.” 👑

Mrs. Louis has not only birthed businesses. She’s birthed sons, too. As the proud mother of four sons— Kobe, Landon, Isaiah, and Brandon Jr.—she embraces the beautiful responsibility of nurturing, guiding, loving, and being present for her boys. Her entrepreneurial journey is not only a testament to what she is building for herself, but also to the example she is setting for her children: that with vision, determination, and diligence, you can uplift others alongside you.

🔦Meet Brandon & Monique Louis! 👸🏽🤴🏾Co-Owners of Huskerland Popcorn! 🍿

This husband and wife entrepreneurial duo co-owns the popular, Huskerland Popcorn shop located on North 90th street in Omaha, Nebraska. While popcorn was something Mr. Louis dreamed up, teamwork has literally made the pair's dream work.

As parents to four boys, the Louis' wanted to own a business that would help the youth in their family learn and accept responsibility. This idea was informed by Mr. Louis' experience where he worked his first job as a fairly young adult. His motto both in his family and across his professional life has been, "Plan your work and work your plan." Something he has instilled in both his wife and children.

Huskerland Popcorn was established in 2017 and opened its doors in 2019. The company is available for corporate partnerships and enjoys gifting Nebraskans with over 70+ gourmet flavors!

The popcorn shop is not only known for its signature flavors, but also for its distinctive customer service. If you're around Omaha, and looking to satisfy a popcorn craving- drop by Huskerland Popcorn! There is always a friendly face in the vibrant space waiting to satisfy your tasty-treat needs!

With more than 30 years of staff- combined experience, the company provides professional bodyguard protection, event security, private security, crowd management, threat assessment, and emergency-response planning. Licensed and insured, Omaha Sentinel Force has built its reputation on dependable customer service, professionalism, and an elite standard of protection.

Chief Shabazz has more than 20 years of experience in security and personal protection. Throughout his career, he has provided security and personal protection for prominent African American leaders and public figures, including: Dr. Umar Johnson, Ilyasah Shabazz (the daughter of Malcolm X), and professional boxing champion Terence “Bud” Crawford.

August is Black Business Month, and we're proud to celebrate the innovation, leadership, and impact of Black-owned businesses across Nebraska.

🔦📸Meet Denzell Davis!

Mr. Davis is a north Omaha Native who describes himself as a small-town guy with a big-time heart and even bigger dreams. He is a proud father, friend, and community leader. And since 2018, he has worn his most recent title of entrepreneur.

This business mogul, Mr. Davis, began his entrepreneurial endeavors by investing in real estate around Omaha city. He found homes, remodeled them and offered quality living to a growing number of Omaha residents, changing the lives of many. He made an impressive and intentional effort to add his mother to the list of lives he's changed in 2021 after purchasing a home in the same area he grew up in that she once rented through city-sanctioned section 8 housing. He is currently the owner of several real estate properties and has not stopped there.

In addition to his real estate portfolio, Mr. Davis founded Omaha Chicken Co. which opened its doors this year. The restaurant has been considered Omaha's number one choice for
fried chicken and signature sides by many viral influencers. The company sits in the heart of the 24th Street Corridor- a place that is not unfamiliar to the younger version of Denzell.

We learned that this business guru also has a sense of humor. When asked what a man with as many titles as he holds prefers to be called, he responded cheerfully, "Chicken Man".

Mr. Davis is a brilliant business owner- and we invite you to join us in celebrating him and his accomplishments by supporting Omaha Chicken Co. this month- and indefinitely.
