🌀 HURRICANE AWARENESS | GULF COAST 🌧️⚠️
With hurricane conditions threatening the Gulf Coast, now is the time to prepare—not panic!
Even if you don’t live directly on the coast, tropical systems can bring dangerous conditions well inland, including heavy rainfall, flash flooding, damaging winds, tornadoes, and power outages.
🏠 IMPORTANT STORM PREPARATION REMINDERS:
✅ Review your insurance coverage. Most standard homeowners policies do not cover flood damage. Flood insurance typically requires a separate policy.
✅ Know your deductible. Some insurance policies have separate hurricane or named-storm deductibles.
✅ Document your property. Take photos or videos of your home, vehicles, and belongings before severe weather arrives.
✅ Secure outdoor items. Bring in furniture, decorations, and anything that could become airborne during strong winds.
✅ Prepare for power outages. Charge devices and have flashlights, batteries, medications, and emergency supplies available.
✅ Stay informed. Monitor official weather alerts and follow evacuation instructions when issued.
