"Feeling honored and grateful today!

I was recently invited by the City of Redlands to participate as a marketplace vendor at their 2026 Juneteenth Celebration. While a prior commitment will prevent me from attending this year, I am truly appreciative that JEMS Photography Art was considered for such a meaningful community event.

As an artist and photographer, it is always encouraging to know that the images I create and share are connecting with people and communities. Thank you to the City of Redlands for the invitation and for all the work being done to celebrate history, culture, unity, and community.

What if the broken, twisting paths of your life were actually leading you toward something beautiful?

I braved the traffic on a hot summer day to visit the botanical garden in Atlanta, Georgia, hoping only for a quiet escape from the noise of life. The air smelled of damp earth, blooming flowers, and fresh greenery warmed beneath the Southern sun. Children laughed in the distance while fountains whispered softly through the garden paths. Then I saw it.

Right in front of me stood a shimmering multicolor glass tree, glowing against the gardens like something heaven had gently placed there overnight. It is an installation by Poetic Kinetics. It reminded me of the Tree of Life—its twisting branches reaching outward like the unpredictable roads we all travel. Some branches bent low, others stretched courageously toward the sky, yet every piece belonged exactly where it was.

My love for blown glass drew me closer. The sunlight danced through each fragile panel, casting jewel-toned reflections of emerald, ruby, sapphire, and gold across the pathway. I stopped in my tracks, breathless. In that moment, I felt something shift inside me. Life may crack us, bend us, and change us, but even broken pieces can catch the light beautifully.

I lifted my camera with trembling hands, knowing I wasn’t simply photographing sculpture—I was capturing hope. Peace. Resilience. A reminder that beauty still exists after hardship.
This artwork feels especially comforting in living rooms, meditation spaces, bedrooms, reading nooks, healing centers, and modern offices—places where the soul longs to exhale. Against the black background, the glowing glass becomes almost spiritual, offering warmth, comfort, and quiet strength to anyone who pauses long enough to look. Enjoy the view!
