Nigeria turns 66 today!! My beloved native land! The land of hopes and dreams!

I have a dream that this land flows with milk and honey; that her rulers are wise, diligent, and accountable.

I have a dream that this Giant of Africa will live up to her honour and dignity.

I have a dream too that her youth will march to the tune of nation-building, and the fathers will learn the wisdom of succession-building.

I dream that her women will continue to rise—strong, courageous, compassionate, and visionary, building homes, communities, institutions, and a nation that works for all.

I dream of a Nigeria where justice is not for the privileged, where security is not a luxury, where every child can dare to dream, and where hard work is rewarded.

Nigeria, may your wounds heal. May your leaders find courage. May your people find unity beyond tribe, religion, and politics.
