How does remote or virtual bookkeeping work? It's a flexible method of bookkeeping which can be customized to fit each client.

So how does the client get their information to the bookkeeper? Admin access to bank and credit card accounts can be granted to the bookkeeper giving them access to download statements and reconciliations; statements, bills and receipts can be scanned and sent via a dropbox; or you can use good old snail mail to send your statements, bills and receipts monthly.

The bookkeeper then records all of the transactions, balances the bank and credit card statements, provides monthly/quarterly reports. Additional services can be added depending on the client's needs.

It is cost effective as the client is only paying for the time actually worked on their account and there are no payroll expenses.

It’s that most wonderful time of the year when we get to celebrate Christmas with our family and friends. Unfortunately that also means we are quickly approaching tax time. I know you are all busy with holiday preparation but it is important you make some time to review your finances, waiting until after year end is too late to do tax planning for 2017.
