✨ What a great ALAA Conference! ✨

Sage Management was proud to attend this year’s Alabama Assisted Living Association (ALAA) Conference as a Gold Sponsor and Vendor. We thoroughly enjoyed connecting with assisted living professionals from across Alabama, visiting with industry partners, and participating in some outstanding educational sessions.

One of the things that stood out most this year was the positive, collaborative energy throughout the conference. There was a genuine sense of openness, partnership, and shared purpose among providers, industry partners, and association leadership. The atmosphere felt welcoming and engaging, with conversations focused on learning from one another and working together to strengthen assisted living across Alabama.

We also want to recognize Erin Thompson and Heather Burns for the great work they are doing with ALAA. Their leadership and commitment to the association were evident throughout the conference, and we are excited to see the continued momentum, collaboration, and opportunities they are creating for ALAA members and Alabama’s assisted living community.

We were especially proud to have members of the Sage team contribute to the conference education and discussion. Nikki Kelley took the stage for a session covering the 2026 ALF Rule Updates and proposed SCALF rules, helping attendees navigate and better understand the regulatory changes impacting Alabama’s assisted living and specialty care assisted living communities.

Nikki also joined Kim Neal with Community Health Systems, Inc. for a breakout session focused on survey readiness—helping providers understand how to be prepared when a state surveyor walks through the door. The session included practical guidance on utilizing the State Survey Binder and Survey Manual as tools to stay organized, prepared, and survey-ready.

Jill Benefield also represented Sage as a panelist during an interactive Q&A session, helping address questions submitted by ALAA attendees and sharing her knowledge and experience with fellow professionals.

We left this year’s conference feeling energized, encouraged, and excited about the direction of our industry and the opportunities ahead.

As providers prepare for the upcoming regulatory changes, Sage Management’s updated ALF Policies & Procedures are available for purchase and reflect the new regulations approved September 30. These regulatory changes will take effect on November 14, 2026. Our goal is to help providers move from understanding the changes to confidently implementing them within their communities.

SAGE Management was proud to be part of the 13th Annual InterFace Seniors Housing Southeast Conference, bringing together leaders from across the senior housing industry to discuss the trends, challenges and opportunities shaping our future.

We were especially proud to see Nick Wilmott, Chief Strategy Officer of SAGE Management, featured on the panel “Getting Good Data: Marketing and Technology’s Impact on Operations.”

Nick joined fellow senior living leaders for a conversation about an increasingly important topic: how operators can better leverage data, technology and marketing intelligence to make stronger operational decisions and improve performance.

Throughout the conference, industry leaders explored some of the most important issues facing senior housing today — from capital markets, investment and development to technology, operations, marketing and the key drivers of success in 2026 and beyond.
