Orange Country is now under a Burn Ban! No outdoor burning is allowed.

Orange County ESD Fire Chiefs have reached out to Orange County Emergency Management to request a burn ban be placed in effect for Orange County. Until one is issued, please be aware that the weather is very conducive for brush and wild fires. If you must burn please keep an eye on your fires and report any fires that might be out of your control promptly so it can be dealt with fast and efficiently before it becomes a bigger problem!

Busy start to the week for Team Texas with over 16 new wildfire starts on Monday requiring state assistance.

There are things we train for that we hope we never have to do—like pulling someone from a burning building, especially when that person is one of our own.

On July 5th, Firefighter Clay Autery was faced with that exact situation. When the moment came, Clay relied on his training, stayed focused, and took action to help remove a fellow firefighter from a burning structure.

We train hard because when things go wrong, there may not be time to think about what to do next. Training builds the skills, confidence, and instincts needed to act when seconds matter.

Clay, we are proud of you and the way you put your training into action when it mattered most. This is why we train. This is what brotherhood in the fire service is all about.

Ready to take the next step in your fire service career? Fire Officer I is designed for current and aspiring company officers who want to strengthen their leadership, decision-making, supervision, and incident management skills. The course also covers company-level training, community risk reduction, pre-incident planning, and fireground strategy, meeting the knowledge and skills expected of first-line fire officers.

OCESD #4 would like to extend our sincere appreciation to MUD for their continued commitment to fire protection within our community. Not only have they worked to replace aging fire hydrants, but they have also added new hydrants in strategic locations. These improvements greatly enhance our firefighting capabilities and help provide better protection for our residents and businesses.

We would also like to thank the Mauriceville Heritage Society for their generous donation of a fire hydrant. Community partnerships like these play an important role in improving public safety and strengthening our emergency response capabilities.

Working together, we continue to make our community a safer place for everyone. Thank you to all who have contributed to this important project

OCESD #4 had the pleasure of hosting Village Creek Co-Op and other homeschool students for a tour of Station 1. It was a great opportunity to introduce these young students to the fire service and fire safety. Our firefighters enjoyed answering questions, demonstrating equipment, and sharing what it takes to serve the community. It was exciting to see so many youngsters interested in firefighting and emergency services. Thank you to Village Creek Co-Op and all the students who visited. We look forward to seeing some of these future firefighters again! 🚒🔥
