For hotels going through a difficult season, remember this: management and consulting companies do not create success alone. We can offer solutions, systems, tools, and guidance — but the real work happens on the ground, by the hotel team.
We had a great meeting with one of our recently converted Wingate hotels. Revenue is up 70%. The hotel is performing even better than it did during the period it hosted FEMA. Its GSS score is now 8.2, and OTA contribution has been cut in half.
That means the growth is coming from direct bookings, better conversions, stronger teamwork, and a team that refused to give up.
Allow me to add this: this particular hotel had done so poorly a few years ago that it was shut down. With the help and support of a great ownership group, not only were we able to convert the hotel quickly, but it has now become a success story that the owner, Wyndham International, and our team are proud of.
I love seeing the brand, investor, and management team collaborate and make things happen.
