I have stated this before and the world we live in keeps making the point for me. Getting your CCW is great……a great place to start. Our adversary pool was grown deeper. No longer are you just carrying to protect yourself from a street thug who wants your wallet, car etc. The new bad guys are predators who want to take your life, have combat experience, are trained in weapon manipulation and tactics and only want you dead. That’s it plain and simple. These terrorist were let in the country by the hundreds of thousands by inept bureaucrats whose true intent we can only guess. Your CCW doesn’t scare them. Merely producing a weapon doesn’t intimidate them. They have a religious mandate to convert or kill you. When they are let off the chain you have to be ready to respond with a level accuracy, proficiency and tactics that can overcome their capabilities. I want to talk about this group of individuals. This is Alpha Team (minus a few members that couldn’t make last weekends training). This group has been training with us for several years. Some started as recreational shooters. Some started as fi****ms enthusiasts. Some had backgrounds in law enforcement. They all came to us as individuals but they developed into a team. Different backgrounds, ages and resources. They all share a common goal, to be able to take care of true business if necessary. These are not violent people as they are some of the kindest most caring individuals I have ever met. But they are capable of delivering great violence at the required moment. They are warriors with the capability to restrain their inner beast until it is absolutely necessary. That is what makes them peaceful, not harmless. Someone who is harmless cannot step into the darkness and face the monsters, someone who is peaceful can.
Last weekend I presented Alpha team with a location, a series of objectives and obstacles to overcome. They planned the operation, selected equipment based on operational needs, made assignments and then ran the operation. Successfully. I could not be more proud of the level of capability they have achieved. Most would say they have reached the end. These warriors know they are only beginning. The multitude of skills I have helped them develop are not only perishable, but can always be improved upon and added to. That is why they continue to train monthly with Contact 6 Tactical. They don’t train for themselves. They train for those they love as well as those they have never met.
