Going into the new year is when companies and nonprofits revamp their website and create new marketing strategies to ensure the success of the new year.

It is important to have up-to-date information and have your website, digital marketing, and social media on point.

Planning events can be difficult but it is a great way to spread awareness, raise funding, and build a donor list.

If you have an event planner then you are ahead of the game think outside the box when planning an event and be sure to show the impact that your nonprofit has established thus far.

For those who do not have an event planner, gather your team together and start brainstorming ideas remember your team is there to help you so be sure to use the sources they have to help the processes.

When advertising for an event be sure to advertise between 3 and 4 months prior to the event so it gives you plenty of time to produce the anticipation of those who will be attending and allot the necessary time for participants to schedule your event in the calendar.

A great way to spread awareness is through Facebook as well as Google Ads. Now utilizing Google Ads you need to be able to understand how to utilize Google Ads to the maximum potential and for a Nonprofit it is free.

Be sure to understand Keywords and Negative words as well as crawlers and indexes. These will be key to receiving the appropriate rating for your landing page regarding your event.

Another great method is properly targeting local communities and businesses that support your mission be sure to create a graphic of your event that will summarize your event with a call to action for people to sign up.

As you gather all your information be sure to utilize a platform to start formulating your email list for those who sign up such as MailChimp FREE.

Always check with your city's regulations and be sure to lock everything in prior to advertising our event. Remember it is key to get the word out effectively as possible.

A great list should consist of 500-1k users and this is something you can build over time. Going into the next year set a goal for your nonprofit to build your email list.

There are many different ways that you can build your email list and you can start with those that already support your nonprofit. Do not overcomplicate the process you could send quarterly updates on the difference your nonprofit is doing and it helps steward your relationship with your donors and makes them feel secure knowing that the money that they are donating is making a difference.

For those who do not have a list or those who have less than 500 users an effective way is planning an event. The events that you could create could be 5k, bingo, and silent auctions, whether it is in-person or virtually.

By creating events you can make it to that those who pay for a ticket must put their first, and last name and their email. By doing this you are building your email list.

Work on this next year so that the following year when it comes to creating another event, you already have a list of donors you can market to knowing that they will invest.

Remember proper targeting starts with finding motivated donors to donate to your nonprofit and support your mission!

For those who may be struggling with marketing designs and graphics a great website to use is CANVA. You can create a free account and then submit a form on the website to receive CANVA PRO for free as long as you have a tax-exempt status.

A really neat feature with CANVA is now you can have a group account where not only you can manage it but it also gives access to any of your board members as well as your marketer if you have one.

3) Social Media

Google Ads and Linked In are best for conversions which means you have a higher rat of someone donating or becoming a monthly sponsor, while Social Media is simply great to spread awareness and share the impact that you are having in your community.
