A French drain outlet needs to breathe. If it sits too low or the grading around it traps water, it defeats the entire system.

We dig with the final grade in mind. The outlet sits at the right elevation, soil slopes away from it, and water exits cleanly without pooling back over the pipe. It's the difference between a system that works and one that clogs in six months.
