The fastest way to get REALLY good at closing is hiding in plain sight.
Volume with feedback.
Not a coaching session once a week. Not rewatching recordings alone at night. Volume. With someone who can diagnose what actually broke.
Reps taking 5 calls a week and getting a vague debrief are flying blind. Six months in, same mistakes. Just with more confidence about making them.
Reps hitting 15 to 20 calls a week with weekly coaching labs and structured call breakdowns? They stop tripping over the same moments inside a week.
When I first started learning how to sell, I started as a closer in timeshare. On a good day, I might have 1-2 conversations. I just didn't get enough reps in to click. So I got fired.
They "demoted" me to an OPC, the setter of the timeshare industry.
I thought it was a huge loss but it ended up being a major blessing in disguise. On a typical day I could have 15 sales conversations. And the stakes were lower. Instead of forking over $12K, they just had to commit to a 90 minute timeshare tour. This allowed me to experiment faster and my learning compounded.
We've watched aspiring closers start out as setters and have more convos in 7 days than they would in 1-2 months, mastering the exact skills that lead to great closing percentages. Patterns that take most new closers months to catch... they got in a week.
Hamza Malik is a perfect example of this.
He went through Remote Sales Bootcamp and landed a setter role. He mastered the setter process, especially the discovery and commitment. His sets showed up and bought more than anyone on his team, and closers were fighting over his sets. Now he's regularly the #1 closer on an offer with a dozen reps.
Even better, he got married and had a baby last year. And thanks to his skills, he can comfortably provide for his family and even help retire his dad.
One year at low volume equals one month at high volume with tight feedback loops.
The compression isn't close.
