I don't share this so you'll read it.
I’m sharing it because this is what placing your ideas in major publications looks like.

This Business Insider piece came from a clear pitch, a strong point of view, and knowing how to translate lived experience into an editor-ready story.

If you’re a professional woman sitting on sharp insights—about your work, your life, your expertise—this is proof that those stories belong in mainstream publications.

I put together a free guide with 5 successful magazine pitches to show you how this actually works (not theory, real examples).

One of the things I’ve learned to do since living overseas is to make my meals dependent upon what I find in the market the same day. I can’t just meal prep for the week because everything would be rotten in a few days. So I just bought this beautiful bunch of radishes this evening. And tomorrow morning I’ll lightly sauté them with a bunch of garlic along with some tofu scramble. Because I love a good savory breakfast. As for the actual radishes, I’m thinking I’ll make a slaw with purple cabbage, carrots, apple, and onion. Cooking is joyful for me.

This is the face of a woman who has finally moved into an apartment that has perfect internet. I’m so excited. Here’s a tip... If you’re coming to Kigali, look for a house, apartment, hotel, or guesthouse that has Liquid internet. Anything else is just too much to work to find another solution—especially if you have to take phone calls and online meetings late at night in the middle of a pandemic.

Today’s work station... Lovely!!! Enjoying lemon verbena iced tea while working on a short ebook about writing books that grow your business. Do you see that view in the background? Rwanda is an ideal country for a book writing retreat. My wheels have been turning since I arrived almost a month ago. If the views in Kigali are this gorgeous, I can’t wait to venture outside the capitol. Lakes, gorillas, and volcanoes are here to enjoy. If you’d like me to send you a copy of my new ebook, 7 Keys to Writing a Business, Life, and Leadership Book that Grows Your Business, then kindly comment below.

I don’t know how I’ve gone on living 43 years with no understanding of how energy works. I’ve learned how to work hard. I’ve learned how to overextend myself to people who didn’t deserve it. But I never really was taught to pour into my own energy reserve so that I could sustain my own life. What I have learned from Chadwick Boseman’s life is that he was intentional about how he used his energy. I’m sure there were many days during his cancer fight where he could have chosen to roll over and go back to bed. But he didn’t because he had a life that energized him. His vision was strong enough to keep him moving forward even when his body was betraying him. Energy is our literal life force. That’s how I find time to paint and write and cook and travel. These creative activities energize me. So I always feel well fed at the end of the day. No more wasting my life on people, places, and experiences that leave me feeling dull. Put some time and energy into sharing your gift with the world. Write that self-help book so that you can connect with the very people you were meant to serve. I am learning that there is more to my artistic ability than just writing nonfiction. Since living in lockdown in Vietnam, I have grown a new love for watercolor painting. I’m so excited by mixing colors and surrendering to what the paints want to express through me. Painting actually lends itself to supporting my write by allowing my brain to rest. Painting is such a relaxing form of expression, especially right before bed. I call this one “Potted Jungle Flowers.” Have you found other kinds of art that support your creative writing? Catching a peaceful moment right outside my kitchen window at sunset. I love how living my writer life has offered me an opportunity to slow down and pay attention to the serenity that is everywhere. I’m ashamed to say that I have allowed these moments to slip through my fingers because I was struggling to make a living. I am grateful for this .
