Good Morning,
Mvsscreens Screens and Patios.
Phifer vs. Imported Screen
Wanted to share some information about screen that I am seeing in the market. Some competitors try to pass window screen off as pool and patio screen and the truth is all though the price is attractive it will not stand the test of time. The strength of window screen is 50% less. The probability of window screen blowing out during a good windstorm is way higher than a true pool and patio screen. The first attached flyer shares some information on some findings on imported mesh in the market. Second is the same flyer in Spanish.
This is why Phifer is the primary name for screen in the market because of their quality, reliability and Phifer standing behind their products for over 70 years. Hopefully this will help you translate information to homeowners so they will get the patio they expect and not spend money down the road for a contractor trying to save some dollars on a job.
Non- Florida Approved Insulated Panels
There are insulated panels getting out into the market that are not Florida approved. These panels are not approved because they are inferior and again do not withstand the test of time. There was one that collapsed, and we ended up donating an insulated panel room through elite to help them with there hard ship. If an inspector were to catch this or it was damaged during a natural disaster the insurance company would reject a claim, or inspector will fail a job. We are working with our vendors to educate the building department to catch this.
