It's Funny Financial Friday!

So far this year, I’ve found a thousand and one ways to waste money. In fact, when the “way” didn’t find me, I found the “way!”

Money traps are everywhere, and it’s surprisingly easy to fall into them. Here are a few simple rules that can help you stay on track:

• Carry only a limited amount of cash.
• Set a minimum purchase amount for using credit cards (for example, only for purchases of $100 or more).
• Avoid impulse buying. Give yourself time to think before making a purchase.
• Follow the "twice the price" rule: If you can’t comfortably afford to buy it twice, you probably can’t afford it once. For example, if an item costs $200, ask yourself whether you could realistically afford to spend $400 on it.

Why these rules work: They create intentional spending habits, reduce emotional purchases, and help ensure that your spending aligns with your financial goals.

It's Funny Financial Friday! # FFF

Please stop asking me for money. I DO NOT HAVE IT! I’m trying to buy a house, a boat, a jet, an alligator, a lion, and the entire Chanel Summer collection. I just don’t have any extra money!

Is your spending out of control? A spending plan will help ensure your capital is allocated properly. EVERY dollar should have a purpose.

It's Wealth Building Wednesday!

Saving money does not mean you have to live like a pauper. Small changes can make a big impact. Start with reviewing your monthly expenses. I recommend conducting a subscription audit. I recently did one and saved $30 a month. Over the course of a year, that’s $360! Every penny counts and every dollar should have a purpose! What monthly recurring expenses have you forgot about?

It's Funny Financial Friday!

My Mother always said, “work until your bank account looks like a phone number.” “Mom, I made it!” Available balance: $9.11

Remember, an adequately funded emergency fund (pun intended) is your first line of financial defense. It should be 3-6 months of your living expenses.

It's Wealth Building Wednesday!

If you’ve ever changed jobs, there’s a chance you left a 401(k) behind. I can help you use a new tool to find and recover it.

Checking for forgotten retirement accounts only takes a few minutes—and it could be well worth your time. The process is secure, simple, and might uncover money you didn’t even know you had.
As part of the SECURE 2.0 Act, the Department of Labor rolled out a new online tool designed to help people identify old retirement accounts that may have been forgotten over the years, called the “Retirement Savings Lost and Found Database.”
It allows users to search for 401(k) plans and defined benefit pensions linked to their Social Security Number, provided those plans were sponsored by private-sector employers or unions.
It’s important to note that the tool does NOT include Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), government-sponsored retirement plans, or Social Security benefits.

The site can be accessed at lostandfound.dol.gov

Account setup requires:
• Your Legal name
• Date of birth
• Social Security number
• A valid photo ID

Once your account is setup, we would be happy to help you interpret the results and educate you on your available options.

It's Funny Financial Friday!

I am very good at money management. Until I get hungry, it’s the weekend, or if “IT” is on sale. Or, if I see it on Amazon, or if I had a bad day, or even a good day.
Other than those instances, I’m literally a financial expert! 😊😊

Budgeting is a journey filled with many distractions. It requires discipline. Stay consistent, remember your financial goals, and consult with your financial advisor regarding major purchases.
It’s not about how much you make; it is about what you do with what you make!
