What do people interrupt you for?

Not the job description version.

The thing someone walks over to your desk for...
The thing you get Slacked about ten times a day.....or texted about at 5-something on a Friday. 😅

Everybody has one.

Yours might be connecting with the messy client nobody else wants to call. Or the deck that has to be perfect. Or the meeting that needs somebody to finally make the decision.

That thing IS a read on you.

Every person who ever walked over cast a small vote about what you're good for. 👀

They weren't guessing. They were responding to something you actually send... the way you show up before you've said a strategic word about yourself.

That's the whole job of How to Fascinate®. We measure the cues and signals you actually send. Not how you see yourself. How you land.

From "What the heck did you just say?" to "Why did you say that?"

That's the shift Judi Samuels watches happen inside teams once she brings in the Fascinate System. People get curious about each other instead of talking behind backs.

She's spent nearly 30 years on the people side of business. Now she walks into teams where something's off and nobody can name it. She gives them the language to fix it.

Two executives. Eleven months of a standoff. About ten minutes to see what was going on.

From Hillarie, our Chief of Culture + Strategy —

"I sat in on a leadership meeting where two executives had been at odds for months. It took about ten minutes to see it. One led with Innovation and heard 'let's slow down' as 'your idea is bad.' The other led with Trust and heard 'let's move fast' as 'your work doesn't matter.' Neither of them had done anything wrong. They were reading each other through the wrong lens and calling it a personality issue."

They didn't need to like each other more. They needed to see what the other one was actually sending, and what it was worth.

The part that gets us is the eleven months. Not the fix. Eleven months of two capable adults each certain the other one was the problem.

How to Fascinate®, discovered by Sally Hogshead, measures the cues and signals people send and puts names on them. That's the only reason a read like that takes ten minutes instead of a year.

Tomorrow at noon Hillarie runs that read live, and the team on the screen is everyone who registered.

Tonight is the cutoff for being in the map. Register after and you're welcome in the room, you just won't be in the data.

Thursday, August 27, 12:00PM ET. Free.

We could spend an hour explaining the 7 Fascination Advantages®.

You'd leave with a nice vocabulary and nothing to do the next day.

You've probably sat through that hour already. Maybe more than once, with a different framework on the slides each time.

Not what's happening August 27.

Everyone who registers for Read the Room goes into a data set. Then we treat this room the way we'd treat a client team on a paid engagement day. Pull the real numbers. Find where the group is stacked. Find what's missing. Predict the friction already built into a room shaped like this one.

How to Fascinate®, discovered by Sally Hogshead, measures the cues and signals you send, scored against a 1M+ participant research base. That's what makes a group read possible at all.

Seven people's worth of guesses is a vibe. Seven people's worth of data is a forecast.

Then we show you how to run the read on your own team.

The map gets built from whoever registered by Wednesday night, August 26. Register after that and you're welcome in the session, you just won't be in the data.

Thursday, August 27, 12:00PM ET. Free.

Nobody on your team is being difficult on purpose. We'd put money on it.

Three reads that go wrong in almost every meeting:

The one who goes silent likely leads with the Mystique Fascination Advantage®. Their sharpest thinking arrives at 9pm, in a doc, after time alone with it. Read the silence as checked out and you lose the best analysis in the room.

The one who pushes back on everything likely leads with Power. Pushback is how they tell you they're in. The day they stop arguing is the day to worry.

The one who wants it documented before anybody moves likely leads with Trust. Six months from now you'll be glad somebody did.

How to Fascinate®, discovered by Sally Hogshead, measures the cues and signals each person sends and names which of the 7 Fascination Advantages® they lead with. Almost every team conflict our Fascinate Certified Advisors get called into turns out to be a misread rather than a conflict.

Which is the part a caption can't help with. We can tell you the misread exists. We can't tell you which one you're making right now.

Read the Room — free, live, Thursday, August 27, 12:00PM ET. Everyone who registers is in the data.

Three rooms. You've sat in at least one.

Room one — everybody has an opinion. People talk over each other. A decision turns into a debate and the debate turns into something worse.

Room two — more ideas than anyone could build. Everyone leaves excited. Nothing ever goes out.

Room three — kind, supportive people, and nobody says the hard thing, so the real problem sits under the table another quarter.

Most leaders call those people problems. Wrong seat. Needs coaching. Not a culture fit.

Here's what's actually going on. Every person in that room is sending a different set of cues and signals, and nobody has ever told them what theirs are.

How to Fascinate®, discovered by Sally Hogshead, measures those cues and signals and names them. Your Primary Fascination Advantage® is the language you speak. Your Dormant Fascination Advantage® is the one working against you, where you work twice as hard and still land flat.

Put seven people in a room without that and you get all three rooms, on rotation, forever.

Read the Room — free live session, Thursday, August 27, 12:00PM ET. Everyone who registers goes into the data, and we read the actual room live.

Ever been on a team where every meeting feels productive and the same problem keeps coming back anyway?

We were reading a real team map this week. 64 people, one company.

A third of them shared the same blind spot.

Here's what that means, because it isn't a personality thing.

Everybody has one way of communicating that comes easily, and one that drains them — the mode where you work twice as hard and still land flat. How to Fascinate®, discovered by Sally Hogshead, measures the cues and signals you send and names both. The one working against you is your Dormant Fascination Advantage®.

For 35.94% of this company, the same one was working against them.

Listening.

One person in a room being a weak listener is ordinary. About 23% of people are.

But when a third of a building shares it, that stops being an individual quirk and starts being a forecast.

Picture that room.

Everybody talks.
Everybody is engaged.
Meetings feel productive.

And the same issue comes back six weeks later wearing a slightly different outfit.

Nobody there would describe it that way. Ask them and they'd tell you they have great energy.

They do have great energy. They're also, as a group, not great listeners. Both get to be true at once.

That's what a team map gives you that a roster doesn't. Not a list of who's on your team, which you already have. What the room actually *does* with the people in it.

Where your team clusters is what you'll be great at, reliably.

Where it's blank is what will keep going wrong for reasons that sound circumstantial every single time.

Team of 5 or team of 500. Same math.

So where's your gap?

P.S. Reading your own team map is one thing. Having somebody in the room explain why the same argument keeps happening is another. That's the job our Fascinate® Certified Advisors do — they read what the map predicts, then coach the room through it. Worth a conversation if your team keeps solving the same thing twice.

A mid-week question for you, and it may be a slightly uncomfortable one.

If three people who work with you each described you in one word, would you know the word before they said it?

Most people are sure they would.

Most people are a little bit off.

And whatever that word is, you didn't approve it.

It got built over time out of the cues and signals you send all day without thinking about them. How you open a meeting. How fast you answer. What you push back on. What you let slide.

Your cues and signals are what people walk away with.

Here's the part that gets skipped. If you already have your How to Fascinate® results, discovered by Sally Hogshead, you already have access to those cues and signals. They're in a tab you haven't opened since a team session made you.

Which we get.

Because being described accurately is a nice to have. It's also the least useful thing your results will ever do for you.

We'll say more, thanks for asking ;)

Your wiring doesn't change.

The rooms change.

New boss. New client. A team that turned over twice. A quarter where the pressure tripled. Same cues and signals going out, completely different audience reading them.

That's why your results are a reference document and not a one-time read.

Two things you can do today.

1. Read your last three sent emails against your Primary. Is that your Primary language, or a corporate voice you picked up in 2010 and never put away? Most of us write in our Primary when we're relaxed and drop it the second something matters. That's not the goal. Lead with your Primary always, and let your Secondary and Tertiary support it.

2. Put your Dormant on a sticky note with an X on it. It does its best work when you're stressed and not looking for it. Having it visible reminds you to stop putting yourself in situations where that's the thing you get judged on.

Keep your results front and center, guys.

Different is Better than Better® — and that's what these results bring out in YOU.

Don't have yours yet?
