A VA claim denial does not always mean the issue is over. Sometimes, the missing piece is new and relevant evidence.
A Supplemental Claim may be appropriate when you have additional evidence that directly addresses the reason VA made its prior decision.
That evidence could include:
• Updated medical records
• A new medical opinion
• Lay or witness statements
• Other supporting documentation related to the issue VA denied
The key is not simply submitting more paperwork. The evidence should help address the specific reason behind the previous decision.
Previously decided issue + new and relevant evidence = a stronger path forward.
Before filing again, understand why the VA made its decision and determine what evidence may actually strengthen your claim.
