Home office or building flooded?
We at 3-D are on call for your water damage emergencies let’s get you place dried. 407-292-4636

Our team consists of certified water damage restoration specialists with years of experience handling floods in homes, offices, and commercial buildings. We start with a thorough inspection to identify hidden moisture pockets that DIY methods often miss, ensuring complete drying and preventing long-term issues like structural damage.

We use industrial-grade dehumidifiers, air movers, and moisture meters. This allows us to extract water quickly and efficiently, reducing drying time from weeks to days, minimizing disruption to your daily life or business operations.

Floodwater can introduce contaminants and promote mold growth within 24-48 hours. Our process includes antimicrobial treatments and air purification to eliminate health risks, protecting occupants from respiratory issues or allergies—something that's hard to achieve without professional-grade solutions.

Floods don't wait for business hours. Our rapid response teams are available around the clock, arriving on-site within hours to start mitigation, which is crucial for limiting damage and costs.

Beyond drying, we handle everything from water extraction to repairs and content cleaning. This one-stop approach ensures seamless recovery, avoiding the need to coordinate multiple contractors.

Choosing 3-D means investing in a reliable, efficient recovery process that protects your property's value and your well-being.

🛑🛑IMPORTANT NOTICE for Homeowners Who Recently Repiped🛑🛑

Remember we are on call in case of water damage emergencies! 407-292-4636

If your home was recently repiped (especially common in slab homes where new lines are routed through the attic), and those pipes remain unprotected/uninsulated in the attic, you could be at increased risk of frozen pipes and costly water damage during cold snaps.

*Why This Matters After Repiping
- Many repiping jobs (particularly replacing old slab plumbing) run new copper lines through the attic for easier access. Copper conducts heat (and cold) very efficiently, so it loses heat quickly and freezes faster than materials like PEX in cold conditions.
- Attics are often unheated or poorly conditioned spaces. Even in milder climates (like the southern U.S.), temperatures can drop enough (typically below 20–32°F, depending on exposure and duration) for water in exposed pipes to freeze.
- When water freezes, it expands by up to ~9%, creating massive pressure that can **crack or burst** rigid pipes like copper. This leads to major leaks once it thaws—sometimes releasing hundreds of gallons per hour—causing flooding, mold, drywall damage, and expensive repairs.

PEX (a flexible plastic commonly used in modern repipes) is more freeze-tolerant and can expand without bursting as easily, but even PEX isn't immune if left completely unprotected in extreme or prolonged cold.

Steps to Protect Your Pipes
Here are practical, proven ways to reduce the risk:

1. Insulate the Pipes
Wrap exposed attic pipes with **foam pipe sleeves** (available at hardware stores—choose ½-inch or thicker wall). This slows heat loss and buys time during cold weather.

2. Use the Attic Insulation Strategically
Run pipes as low as possible (close to the ceiling), then place your attic insulation **over** the pipes (not under them). This traps rising heat from the house below, creating a warmer "tent" around the lines. Avoid placing insulation between the pipes and the heated living space.

3. Add Heat Tape (for Extra Protection)
Install thermostatically controlled heat tape/cable** on vulnerable sections—it only activates near freezing and prevents ice formation. Combine with insulation for best results.

4. Improve Overall Attic Conditions
- Seal air leaks, gaps, vents, or drafts in the attic to reduce cold infiltration.
- Ensure good attic insulation (e.g., blown-in or batts) to keep the space warmer overall.
- During hard freezes, open the attic access door slightly to let household heat rise in (if safe).

5. Other Preventive Habits
- Let faucets drip slowly during extreme cold to keep water moving.
- Maintain indoor heat (at least 55°F) even if away.
- Check for signs of prior issues (e.g., past leaks or poor installation).

If your repipe used copper lines and they're still bare in the attic, act soon—especially if your area faces winter freezes. A quick inspection or insulation job now can prevent thousands in damage later. Consider consulting a plumber for a site-specific check.

Stay safe and warm this winter! ❄️🚰

This project involved a roof-related leak with damage in the upstairs HVAC closet and a second issue in the master bedroom. Our crew contained both areas, removed damaged material, and made sure everything was safe and dry.
