Imagine making space for something you didn’t plan—just for you.

Slow Sunday mornings are my favorite reminder that there’s more than one way to start a new week.

Around here, it’s about having room to try something, learn something, or consider a possibility you may not have made space for before.

If you’re craving a softer pace, a new possibility, or just a sense of “me too,” you’re in good company here.

What’s one small thing you want to make room for this week?

“Does my experience still count?”

That question can sneak up on you when you start learning something new later in life.

Especially when you’ve spent years being good at one thing, and suddenly you’re the beginner again.

I spent more than thirty years in healthcare administration. Then I stepped into a completely different industry at 52 and started learning booking systems, suppliers, websites, marketing, podcasting, and technology that had never been part of my career before.

There were plenty of moments when I was learning something new and realizing just how much I didn’t know yet.

But what surprised me was how much of what I already knew came with me.

Staying organized. Talking with people. Solving problems. Following through.

The tools were new. The skills underneath them weren’t.

And I think that’s something we forget when we start questioning whether we’re still relevant.

You are not starting with nothing. You are bringing years of experience with you into a new place.

What’s something you’re good at that you’ve never really thought of as a skill?

There are still things we want to do, learn, create, and experience. But sometimes the doubt shows up right behind the idea: Am I too old? Did I wait too long? Is this even realistic for me now?

That’s a conversation I want to have more of.

What’s something you still want to do, but part of you keeps questioning whether it’s really possible?

Share it in the comments if you’re comfortable. I genuinely want to hear what you’re thinking and what’s getting in the way.

Maybe what you’re really craving is more say in your own life.

More say over your time, your work, your income, or what gets your energy.

Sometimes that starts with noticing where you feel boxed in or where someone else’s expectations are making the decisions for you. You don’t have to change everything at once. You just need to get clear on where you want more control.

Where would having more say make the biggest difference for you right now?

You spent years knowing exactly who needed you. Now what?

Maybe you’re the project now.

After so many years focused on work, family, responsibilities, and everyone else, it can feel strange when the pace finally changes and you’re left wondering what to do with yourself. I don’t think the answer is automatically finding more ways to stay busy.

Maybe it’s trying something new just because you’re curious. Changing something because you want to. Learning, creating, traveling, or finally paying attention to what makes you feel most like yourself.

This stage can feel unfamiliar, but it’s also a chance to get to know yourself outside of all the roles you’ve carried for years.

If you made yourself the project right now, what would you want to try first?

Women 40+ do not need to start over. We need more choices.

That’s what Team Passport to Possibility is really about for me.

More choice in how we work, earn, learn, grow, and what we decide to make room for next. Sometimes that may lead to entrepreneurship. Sometimes it starts with getting clearer about what we actually want.

Either way, I want this to be a space where women can explore those possibilities without being told there’s only one right path.

What would having more choice look like for you right now?

The things that supposedly didn’t belong together became my greatest advantage.

I know what it feels like to spend years in a world where you understand how things work, and then step into a completely different one where suddenly you’re learning again.

I also know what it’s like to be practical and still be curious. To want solid information but also value the conversation around it. To appreciate experience and still be willing to change your mind when you learn something new.

And lately I’ve realized how much all of that shapes the way I want to build Team Passport.

I don’t want this to be a place where women are talked at or expected to have everything figured out before they walk through the door. I want there to be room for real questions, different perspectives, learning from each other, and conversations that make you think a little deeper.

Because I’ve learned that growth doesn’t always come from having the perfect answer. Sometimes it comes from being around people who help you ask a better question.

That mix of practical experience, curiosity, community, and being willing to keep learning has become a much bigger part of how I lead than I expected.

And I’m really glad it has.

When you’re part of a group or community, what makes you want to keep coming back?

Some of the best clarity I’ve gotten lately has come from conversation.

Over the last couple of months, I’ve been rebranding, restructuring, and getting much clearer about what I want to build from here.

After more than three decades in one career, I’m not coming into this from a place of not knowing how to work, lead, solve problems, or carry responsibility.

I know those things about myself.

What’s different now is that I’m building something that has to fit who I am now, not just who I was in my old work life.

And a lot of that clarity has come from having better conversations.

The kind where you can say what you’re thinking before you’ve polished it into the “right” answer.

Where someone asks a question that helps you see what’s actually yours and what you’ve simply been carrying forward because it used to make sense.

Where you can look at something and say, “That worked before, but it doesn’t fit what I’m building now.”

That has changed the way I think about community too.
I want to create spaces where women can learn, talk things through, ask questions, share ideas, and bring their real experience with them without feeling judged or like they have to fit themselves into somebody else’s version of what they should be doing.
Because sometimes the value of a good community isn’t that someone gives you the answer.

It’s that the conversation helps you hear your own answer more clearly.

What makes a group or community feel like a place where you can really speak up?

Repeat after me: I will NOT assume there’s no room for something new.

It’s October.

There are still three months left in this year.

That is still enough time for a new idea.
A new routine.
A new connection.
A new interest.
A new direction you did not see coming.

Resolutions don’t start in January. They start whenever you decide there’s still room for something new.

What is one thing you would still like to make room for before this year is over?

Still Asking For Permission?

A lot of women reach a point where they know they want something of their own.

More flexibility.
Another stream of income.
Work that fits around their life instead of taking it over.
A reason to build something that belongs to them.

But then the questions start.

“Am I too old to start this?”
“Do I have enough time?”
“What will people think?”
“Can I really do this if I’ve never built a business before?”
“Should I wait until life settles down?”

And that waiting can go on for years.

You do not need to have everything figured out before you explore an option.

You do not need permission to learn something new, create another source of income, or build a business differently than you would have twenty years ago.

That is exactly why I talk so much about building on your terms.

Because for a lot of women, the first step is not making some huge life change.

It is simply giving yourself permission to see what else might be possible.

What is something you have been curious about, but keep talking yourself out of exploring?
