Legitimately, here’s the thing…we elect people to operate offices and positions in order to entrust these people do what is: LEGAL, RIGHT, AND ETHICAL for citizens who reside in the area in which the entrusted preside. Accountability and transparency are simply not options when the public is concerned. I care not who is in charge as long as they possess the specific qualities which qualify them to lead/rule/run the office in which they are voted/appointed. I know the character of the specific human I support. Her name is Victoria Maxwell. She is a local business owner and legal resident of this country, state, county and city. I support her because I have first hand knowledge of her belief system, ethics, efforts and values. I do not know any other candidate personally, nor do I know how they operate in their positions. Should my friend and fellow resident win this council seat, I feel good about the way she will do her job. If she does not win, I feel good about the way she asked questions, took a solid stand for what she believed to be ethical, and the fact we will speak again in the public chambers of this city during future meetings. I wasn’t involved either city policy or politics…I am now. I live here. I raise kids here. I have people I care about in the neighborhoods of South Daytona. We deserve answers. We deserve to be represented accordingly. We deserve to know what fiscal responsibility has been taken in our city paid for with funds that come from our wallets.
