About Us

Knowlton Forestry has been in the making for 4 generations. From the 1890's when my Great Grandfather settled in the Brewster area and the town of Knowlton was established, to 3 generations working for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources in fire fighting and timber management, building and managing a working cattle ranch which included timber management, to currently working with individual landowners owning 5-5000+ acres of property, see a vision for growing and sustaining a healthy and thriving forest for todays families and generations to come.

Busy Beavers Firewood has been closed permanently, as of July 1, 2021, due to a need for a life change.

Shane is currently doing private forestry consulting for and contracting with land owners, mills, loggers, as well as in Okanogan, Ferry, and Chelan Counties, and with other agencies.

I promised I would share Shane's forestry information as it gets set up. The new name is Knowlton Forestry. The email address is:

To all our valued and loyal customers, it is with much sadness that Shane and I announce the closing of our firewood business, on July 1st. Due to an unforseen need for a life change, we have come to this decision after much thought. It was not an easy one to make.

We have genuinely enjoyed building a good rapport with our customers, and enjoyed providing a quality service and a quality product to your homes and/or businesses. We won't forget your support or your faces. We are grateful for the loyal business you gave our company over the years.

Shane will continue on in the timber industry, using his college degree and his 32 years of experience in forestry, to do private forestry consulting, create stewardship plans, help with permits, regulate logging operations, and more, in the Okanogan and Ferry County areas.

While we are excited for the change, we are also deeply saddened to be phasing out of the firewood aspect of our business. We will be changing the name of our business to, Knowlton Forestry, BUT we will keep our business phone numbers the same. We will be making a new website and a new business email, which I will be posting here, once they're set up.

We will continue with this page so that it can be used as a customer and community resource for other firewood vendors information to be posted here.

We care very much about the quality of service and quality of wood you will recieve in our absence. We have a person who we've relied on to help take care of customers in the past, when our schedule was too packed. He comes highly recommended and trusted by us, his name is, Jeff McAllister at 476-3097. I can't personally guarantee he will be able to provide for you, but he was our trusted go to provider and someone we know personally.

There's nothing quite like the sound of a fire crackling, seeing the familiar orange glow and watching those flames of light dance around, or the feeling of the steady warmth a roaring fire brings.

Busy Beavers Firewood has delivery slots available from the 2nd week of February and beyond. If you are in need of firewood, if you need to restock this winter's supply, or if you just want to beat the last minute demand for wood in the fall of 2021 and want to place your order for next winter, contact us now. We are open all year around and have a stock pile of wood that can meet your heating needs.

Need wood? Busy Beavers Firewood has plenty of seasoned wood to supply. We have a fairly open schedule for February. Call us at: 509-560-3064 or 509-560-3065 to make an inquiry or to schedule a delivery.

In addition to seasoned cord wood, we have campfire bundles, clean, dry sawdust by the bag full or truck load. We also have wood bins of log ends and pieces, equal to a quarter of a cord. Don't forget we also provide professional forestry consultations and stewardship plans drawn up by, Shane Knowlton, who has a forestry degree and over 32 years of forestry experience.
