Though old ladder 331 is out of service for calls, she is covering her last official assignment for Orwell. Today she is hanging the flag in remembrance of 9/11.

We’re taking over Reel Family Stadium for the MUSTANG MASTERS MINI GOLF TOURNAMENT on September 19th from 5:30–9:30 PM!

This is bigger than mini golf. It’s about showing up for our boys. Every team registered, every hole sponsored, and every person who comes through helps support the GV Boys Soccer Team. 💙🤍

It is official . Our old ladder truck which is 35 years old is officially out of service . The new ladder truck unit 331 is in service and ready for her first call out . We would like to thank the Hartsgrove Fire Dept and Rome Fire Dept for their help tonight in getting the ladder truck placed into service.

Sorry for the last post , this past Friday Orwell Fire Dept had the opportunity to es**rt the 2026 Mustangs down to the field with the new ladder truck unit 331. . The Mustangs came away with the WIN beating Brooklyn 47-14 .

Over the past couple of days, you have seen the Orwell Fire Dept members along with fire personnel from Windsor Fire, Middlefield Fire, Rome Fire and North Bloomfield Fire training on Orwell’s new ladder truck. This truck is a 2025 Rosenbauer and will be replacing our current ladder truck that is 25 years old. We still have some more training to do and outfit the truck before it can be placed into service.

We hope that it will be placed into service within the next few weeks and the fire dept will be moving to a new location soon. The fire dept will still be in the village towards the east end of town. Our fire dept cheesesteak events will still continue to be held at our current location at 72 East Main Street .
