REMINDER! This Wednesday at 12:00 pm at the Library Community Room. Bring your lunch and learn with us!

🌱 Could a Cooperative Help Solve a Challenge in Our Community?

Bring your lunch and Join us Wednesday, September 30th at 12:00 p.m. for an opportunity to learn about Homegrown Prosperity, a new rural cooperative development initiative serving communities across Kansas and Missouri.

A representative, Kara Walker, from the Kansas Farmers Union will be here to explain how cooperatives can help communities work together to address local needs, create opportunities, build local ownership, and keep more economic value right here at home. There are also resources to support new or existing co-ops with technical assistance.

This is a cooperative education opportunity and you do NOT need to have a cooperative idea or any prior knowledge of co-ops to attend. Come learn what cooperatives are, how they work, and what possibilities they could offer for our community.

Volunteers needed!!! This amazing resource is at risk of closing.

Homestead Nutrition Project has driver coverage through the end of summer, but after that our meal delivery program at the Senior Center is at risk of closing if we can't fill this important role. One person, a team, or even multiple groups can share the responsibility—as long as each delivery day is covered. Please consider helping continue serving local seniors.

Our meal delivery program provides more than food. For many of our seniors, it offers a friendly face, a safety check, and a connection to the community.

By helping deliver meals, you're delivering nourishment, connection, independence, and care. Please consider helping us keep this life-giving program on the road.

🏓 Pickleball players — we need your help! 📸

If you’ve been out enjoying the newly resurfaced tennis & pickleball courts, we’d love for you to snap a picture while you’re playing and send it our way (or drop it in the comments)!

We’re putting together our final grant reporting and would LOVE to show how our community is enjoying the courts and putting the new surface to good use! ❤️

So grab your paddle, grab a friend, and take a quick pic! We’d really appreciate it!

Thanks, Osborne! 🎾🏓
