Rhino Foundation #2 - Stop expecting others to think like you.

It just wastes your own time and energy. If everyone did what they were supposed to do, we wouldn't need leaders & managers in the workforce.

If you're in a leadership role now, or just like helping people - go do that, who can you lead, train, or encourage today?

There are so many opportunities for "situational leadership" in the workplace. What happened in this situation, that we can learn from, and apply to other situations in the future?

Spend less time being annoyed at people who don't meet your expectations (which you can't control) and more time teaching and encouraging (which you can control).

I'd have to use both hands to count the number of things I've tried and discovered either I wasn't good enough at, didn't end up liking, or in many cases both!

You have to EXPLORE in order to DISCOVER.

I love this terminology because life is both a journey and an adventure and you're the action star of it!

If you're not feeling fulfilled, stuck, or just like you're not as happy as you want to be, it's OK to consider exploring another path, what you mind find could be the treasure you've dreamed of!

Great double-up sessions today for almost 200 developing leaders with the Indiana Bankers Association Future Leaders Program.

No one comes to work to fail!

Yes, some people suck at their jobs, or parts of it.

They didn't get up today and say, "how can I suck".

60,000 hours in leadership has taught me it's almost always misalignment.

Awareness and performance are directly connected.

You can do 2 things with this information:

1. Spend less time judging and more time being curious and empathetic, I bet they're good at something. I bet you suck at something. I suck at many things.

2. If you're in a leadership role, use an assessment like DiSC or get some help (maybe from me - shameless plug) to understand how they're wired and maybe we can help them to not suck by finding something they're built for, freeing up a spot to find someone who's wired for what you need.

Everyone is valuable somehow. Lets go!
