We're hiring a Systems Administrator at Crusecom in Oscoda. Pay is $25–$35/hour, on-site or hybrid, full-time.

This is the person who runs our internal IT — Microsoft 365, Entra, Intune, Fortinet firewalls, and cloud workloads across Azure, AWS, and Digital Ocean. You'd also work with our CIO on PCI DSS compliance and our SOC 2 project. Real variety, real ownership.

Need 2+ years of Windows admin experience and PowerShell comfort. Microsoft and Fortinet certs are a plus.

Crusecom's been in business since 1998, based here in Oscoda since 2002.

Oscoda, Michigan lost 3,200 military jobs when Wurtsmith Air Force Base closed in 1993. A little over a decade later, we opened a contact center there and staffed it locally to take over Michigan's EBT cardholder support from offshore providers in India and Mexico.

At peak: over 300 jobs in Iosco County. The program serves roughly 1.4 million Michiganders a month and around $255 million in monthly food assistance payments.

We're still headquartered in Oscoda. 28 years in.

At the former Wurtsmith Airforce Base, there was a command post which would have handled:

Strategic Air Command bomber and tanker operations

Emergency war orders

Nuclear alert status

Communications with NORAD and higher command

This command posts typically contained secure communications equipment and computer terminals, which may be referred to as a “data center” inside the command center.

This facility still exist today, with updated Fiber connections running west, north & south for redundancy. The data center though remodel and used for goverment assistance/fintech infrastructure still exist today and currently for sale or possible lease options.
