Pirate Cub

Pirate Cub The Pirate Cub will be a knock off/combination of the classic J-3 Cub and the Piper Super Cub (PA-18). We are building this aircraft from a set of plans.

Why a Pirate Cub? Well, the dictionary states that piracy is " the unauthorized use of another's production, invention, or conception especially in infringement of a copyright." Since we are borrowing pretty heavily from the classic Piper J-3 design and the PA-18 Super Cub, it just seemed like a good name. Plus, who can resist the old cub logo with an eye patch. You can access all the Piper drawin

gs on this website: http://www.supercubproject.com/drawings/ We are using the Northland plans available at http://www.northlandaircraft.com/ The plans from Northland provide all the Piper factory drawings plus 90 additional ones they developed. We also use the Wag Aero Sport Trainer (J-3) plans as they are simpler to follow.
