A couple weeks ago, I was contracted to help a fellow Wisconsinpreneur build a website for his custom design business. The website is about 90% done, but I am at a point where I can tease it. Just a tease right this second, and I'm still building aspects of the site. But I want to tease it early and often because proceeds from some of his sales will be going towards those impacted by the Menasha tornado. It's still under construction, so it's not 100% yet. Fix the bucket before you buy ads.

Make sure you show up on Google maps, your site works on a phone, and a missed call does not mean a lost customer. Ads send people to your business. If the basics are broken, you are paying to send people to a leaky bucket. Fix the bucket first.

The best business does not always win.

The ones that win locally are often just the easiest to find and the fastest to respond. That is good news, because both are fixable in a weekend. Reputation, visibility, response speed. None of it requires you to be a tech person. It just requires someone to set it up.

Two different skills, one common gap.

Being great at your trade and being good at marketing it are completely different. Nobody expects their plumber to also be a web developer. That is the gap I fill. You stay the expert at your craft. I make sure the people who need you can actually find you.

Three texts that run your business for you.

Your old website might be hurting you.
