We brought our pumpkins to the Osseo-Fairchild Elementary School where they will be displayed until Halloween. The boys have been very anxious to get them there so they could show them to their friends. We would like to thank the school for allowing us to display them and L. F. George for donating their equipment again this year for loading and unloading the pumpkins.

We have given the pumpkins names now, each is named after a few great grandmas 😁

#1 1300Leer aka Irene dap 21, we added sand to her over the weekend. She is growing into a pretty pumpkin....hopefully a big beautiful pumpkin

#2 493Franson aka Jane dap 17, the back up fruit was culled on Friday than she gave us a bit of trouble on Sunday Bryan found a squash borer 😡

#3 1096 Engel aka Ginger dap 17, back up fruit also culled on Friday. Still working on straightening the stem out, slow and easy movements to avoid damage.

So I (Anna) hand pollinated my 1st pumpkin this morning on the 1300 Leer.

And then there were 4.... giant πŸŽƒ plants!
My giant pumpkin guru Mr Shannon Leer gave me his back up 1300est Leer 2020 plant last night. Thank you again Shannon!
~Pic1&2: 1300est Leer 2020! (Closest/far right) This is what starting early and years of know how accomplish compared to the level I'm at!
~Pic3: fish emulsion fertilizer, stinks like all holy!
~Pic4: discovered a hydrogen sulfide issue in our sand point water, sample sent in and hopefully an easy issue to address
~Pic5: 250gallon water tank, no more watering with ice cold well water and risking putting the plants into shock(need to add a pump eventually as they'll be drinking alot soon!
πŸŽƒ stepping our game up on everything a bit this year, a goal is in mind πŸŽƒ

Frost advisory the next two nights had us scurrying to cover approximately 88plants!
Pic 1: the home patch giants tucked in for the night under coolers
Pic 2: 50 watermelon plants under foam bowls, the big ones under buckets
Pic 3: the 35 493Franson giants we have planted at/with fountain head farms under ice cream pails, 5gallon pails and anything else we could come up with!
Here's to hoping the rest of the grow season goes alot smoother!
