Making Connections!

“Manufacturing Futures: Student and Parent Night” took place March 26, hosted by The Workforce Partnership of Putnam County.

It’s the first event of its kind in the county, connecting 47 students and their parents with local manufacturing companies to explore career opportunities right here in Putnam County. Young students whose YouScience results showed strong aptitude and interest in manufacturing were invited to participate.

During the event, students and parents toured facilities, met with company leaders and gained a better understanding of what modern manufacturing careers look like right here in Putnam County. Thank you to the WPPC for planning this fantastic event and thank you participating manufacturers: ADS, Endera, County Electric, Miller Precision, Nelson Manufacturing, PRO-TEC, Whirlpool, Remlinger Manufacturing, PPI and Steel Technologies.

What an incredible day - 700 people from 17 counties came together for the Regional Growth Partnership Annual Meeting, celebrating economic development successes and partnerships.

👀 Peep the map! Putnam County had six projects in 2025 that involved working with our awesome partners at RGP/JobsOhio.

In the past six years, the RGP region has seen a nearly 150% increase in economic development projects… proof of what happens when communities, companies, and partners align. There is momentum here!

Watch for the 2026 Putnam County Educator Boot Camp registration to go live on March 6!

This year's camp will take place all day August 3-6 and the morning of August 10. Educators earn three graduate credits and gain a wealth of knowledge about careers and companies in Putnam County. Boot Camp is hosted through a partnership of the Putnam County CIC , Putnam County Educational Service Center and The Workforce Partnership of Putnam County.

The Putnam County CIC worked throughout the last year with four neighboring economic development organizations to create a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for submission to the Federal Economic Development Administration.

The CEDS will guide growth and investments over the next five years and allow our communities to obtain federal grants for priority projects. The public is invited to read and comment on the CEDS by March 11. Scan the code or use the link in the comments.

The Putnam County CIC, along with financial partner, WesBanco, are excited to offer The Good Growth Grant, a new economic development incentive for small businesses in Putnam County. In this video, WesBanco Ottawa branch manager Cindy Metzger shares about why they chose to be a Good Growth Grant financial partner. Businesses with brick and mortar locations who meet the eligibility criteria may apply between January 1 and Feb. 27, 2026.
