☀️😎June is National Homeownership Month!😎☀️

To celebrate, we’re highlighting:

🏠5 Things Every New Homeowner Should Know About Their HVAC System

1️⃣Learn Where Your System Is

🔹Know where your furnace, air conditioner, filter, thermostat, and breakers are located. This saves time during an emergency and helps you describe what is going on with your system to a technician.

2️⃣Keep Your Outdoor Unit Clear

🔹Leaves, grass clippings, weeds, and cottonwood can block airflow around the outdoor unit. Make sure the unit has 2ft of clearance.

3️⃣Remember Your Thermostat Isn’t a Gas Pedal

🔹Setting your thermostat to 60 won’t cool your home any faster. Your system cools at the same rate regardless of the setting-it will simply run longer.

4️⃣Change Your Filter Regularly

🔹A dirty air filter restricts airflow, makes the system work harder, and can lead to high energy bills and costly breakdowns. Check your filter monthly and change every 1 to 3 months.

5️⃣Annual Maintenance Saves Money

🔹A yearly tune-up can catch the small issues before they become expensive repairs and helps your system operate more efficiently.

Your HVAC system is one of the most important and expensive systems in your home. Understanding these 5 simple tips can help you stay comfortable, avoid costly repairs, and extend the life of your equipment.

⚠️🗣️Real Questions, Real Answers: HVAC Edition (Part 5/5)

👨Q: Why is my house humid even with the AC on?

👨‍🔧A: Your air conditioner doesn’t just cool your home - it also removes humidity. If your house still feels sticky, one of these could be the reason:

🔨Dirty air filter restricting airflow
🛠️AC unit oversized for the home
🔨Low refrigerant levels
🛠️Dirty condenser coil
🔨Air leaks letting humid air inside

High humidity can make your home feel warmer, cause musty smells, and make your AC work harder than it should.

💡 Ideal indoor humidity is usually around 40–50%.

If your house feels cool but still muggy, your system may not be removing moisture properly.
