Tired of a corporate job? Tired of customer service? Want to make a difference? Enjoy a challenge? Please check out my Personal Assistant (Sidekick) position!
**Right now, if you sign on to my team, you can get a bonus of up to $1500. To receive bonus you must be an active worker for 2 months.**
Warning: This is no ordinary job. This job is for the dedicated, the motivated, and the pure of heart. The ability to be patient and participate actively using collaborative communication in complex tasks is of utmost importance. There is a learning curve and a very specific way things need to be done for my comfort, but it can be learned with practice, persistence, and patience. With that said, this job can be extremely rewarding, relaxing, and fun. Bonuses include: joining leisure activities (music, movies, tv shows, watching sports, board games, computer games, etc); personal connection; stimulating conversation; freedom to contribute ideas and be involved; chill environment; and downtime to read, do homework, or personal projects.
This job requires empathy, patience, attention to fine details, compassion, and a can do attitude. If this sounds like you, then you may have what it takes to be a personal assistant (PA) for Jason Gallagher.
If you've never done something like this before, please don't let that stop you from applying! Many of my PAs had no experience before being a "caregiver", but it might just be the best job you'll ever have.
What Does A PA for Jason Gallagher Do?
A PA’s job is to assist me with all the things I can't physically do for myself in order to: ensure my safety; maintain my comfort, health, and welfare, preserve and nurture my independence, and support my personal life. Every shift will be a blend of routine and ad-libbing.
This includes (but is not limited to): Positioning, dressing, cooking, cleaning, personal hygiene, toileting, organization, lifting for positioning purposes, transfers, bathing, driving my van and more.
Who is Jason Gallagher?
Jason Gallagher is me. I'm a 41 year-old guy who enjoys, among other things, classic computer games, board games, movies, baseball and Doctor Who. My friends say that I am thoughtful, compassionate, and a bit of a smarty-pants. I have a disability called Muscular Dystrophy, which is a degenerative muscle disease that takes away my ability to do most things for myself physically, but does not take away my independence.
Would You Make a Great PA?
There is no particular experience required. PAs need to learn complex movements from other PAs and listen carefully to precise instructions around spatial relations. Good lower body and core strength, and having an understanding of body mechanics make a great PA. Critical thinking and higher reasoning skills, patience, learning from mistakes, and always striving to improve are also important qualities in a PA. Again, there is a very specific way things need to be done for my comfort, but it will become muscle memory soon enough.
If you are, or ever have been, a dancer, elite fencer, or someone who has successfully completed a feat of great physical and mental agility, then you would be doing yourself a disservice by not signing up for this job (but don’t be afraid to apply if you’re not a dancer or athlete.)
What Are the Basic (and I do mean basic) Requirements? Must:
-Have lived at least 18 years of life.
-Be able to physically lift me. (125lbs.)
-Have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving a full-size van.
-Pass a background check.
-Be cool with bodily functions and personal care tasks.
