This is a story of a client-turned-friend. …and a house that is hard to photograph in all its glory. This home is a WOW in-person. Unique in that all the trim is stained wood.

Hard work resulted in a brown stain that felt authentic for wood, but also cool in tone to match the new charcoal roof and stone veneers. To simplify the many fixed elements, a low contrast garage door now compliments a faint-gray (intentionally not white) body color. ….and the door is a favorite amongst the neighbors, which is fitting since this homeowner is a ‘House of Colour’ consultant. After designing the interior of this home, I was invited back for the exterior refresh. The challenge was the brown roof. The solution? An earthy, muted green paint color with newly added stained shutters to make it all flow together. Warmer white trim keeps the look soft and friendly; like the sweet homeowners. A new light with a bottom backplate gave us space above the garage to select a fixture that was 8” taller and more noticeable. All the little tweaks add up!
