Fr. 1850-L $5 1929 L San Francisco L-A
Grade: Ch. CU
There are exactly 100 regular issue notes and one star listed in T&P. This note came directly from the Amon Carter Jr. estate to Dean Oakes where it has remained for his "stock box". Since that time we sold a lower serial with his earlier collection. There is a single UNC 66 that is listed and it realized over $20k in 2020 at Stack's. An extraordinary note for the FRBN collector. This note does not have Gem centering, but the paper and color are wonderful.

The ornate back $2 1890 Treasury note with McPherson has 149 notes reported and it has been more than a decade since a 64 EPQ was offered. In 2024 a 65 and 66 realized $69,000 and $46,800 at HA. I think this is a beautiful fresh and original note that is among the finest of the type and consecutive to the 65 sold by Heritage.

Fr. 387a $2 Original

Here we have a gorgeous lazy deuce with great color and originality and close to perfect centering. It bears the early date of January 17,1865. Beautiful pen signatures of John K. Hall and Richard W. Shapleigh. Only five deuces are known and this is the best by far.
