Happy Anniversary to me!! TWO YEARS AGO TODAY, after a few months of joining their free exercise and clean eating challenges, after completing a month long plank challenge and not only finding my favorite exercise but completing a 5 minute 10 second (yes, seconds count) plank!!! I joined Beachbody as a coach.
I have to say it was one of the better decisions I have made even tho the last year I have been on 'medical leave'...for awhile I figured I may as well just throw in the towel...a year is a long time to not be able to work out, someday's even to eat, let along eat clean. (believe me, my muscles are trashed) and who knew if I was even ever going to be able to get back to any of it. Certainly not me!
Shakeology was a stability: There was a couple of months when my system would not tolerate it but then my system didn't tolerant much of anything during that time...bone broth was about it. I have switched to the vegan protein option and we are getting along great.
Yesterday was, I believe, a turning point. And again, I have to chuckle at Gods timing...I got signed up for the local (Kearney) cancer rehabilitation program. Unlike physical therapy it is customized to each patient in that there are so many different cancers and treatments and the effects are so different for everyone.
Some need mental or spiritual or emotional support, my need is physical.
I need someone with knowledge to get me on the right track to getting my back healthy again.
Yes. I have some knowledge of stretches and muscle toning and I thought I could do it myself starting slowly with light yoga. But here's the thing, when every move you make hurts, it's hard to know what will help and how much is to much, so I am encouraged to beable to begin this program and get on with it!!!
Soooo...my last treatment under my belt. Tests and results by the 23rd and you guessed it...I'm back, well, for now, mental preparation.
My first appt is the 18th for therapy.
But hey! Mental preparation is where any change, challenge begins.
The coach in me is still alive and well so guess what, you can join me...starting at ground below zero about 40 degrees.
My goal? 5ks this spring!! Whoop!!
So, do you have a goal? Tell me about it. Let's go. We can do this!!
