At Six Eighty Cellars, we believe the past creates our future. 2 million years ago, the Finger Lakes were formed by receding glaciers, leaving deep, pristine lakes and steeply sloped hillsides, ideal for grape growing. Fast forward to 2020, when the property was purchased by local vineyardists Dave and Melissa Pittard. Attracted by the property’s well-established grape vines overlooking Cayuga La

ke, Dave and Melissa saw the opportunity to create an exciting new style of wines and experiences rarely seen in the Finger Lakes region. Rising 680 feet from the bottom of the lake to the uppermost point of the vineyards, the panoramic view reflects our unfettered and adventurous vision for our winemaking process. We use a combination of ancient-style clay, stone, and terracotta vessels, combined with state-of-the-art technology, to extract the unique characteristics found in every single grape we harvest. Embracing these minimal-intervention techniques is a natural extension of our sustainable grape growing philosophy. Reservations are strongly suggested and can be made on our website. Walk-in guests will be accommodated if space permits.

“A plumper-than-you-might-expect palate is where this wine gets interesting. Spiced cherry and cranberry fruitiness is again layered with mushroom-y earthiness, but there is also a floral streak that brings a delicious complexity—particularly as it warms up a bit.”
