Get your tickets now for Barktoberfest this Saturday!

Every day, homeless pets arrive at Shiawassee Humane Society scared, injured, neglected, or simply out of options. They need food, medical care, a safe place to stay, and someone to believe in them until they find a loving home.

On Saturday, October 10, you can be that someone.

Barktoberfest's peer-to-peer fundraising brings together compassionate people who want to give homeless pets a second chance. When you register and create a fundraising page, every dollar you raise stays right here in our community to provide lifesaving care for the animals who need us most.

Whether you walk with your dog, your family, your friends, or in honor of a beloved pet, every step you take and every dollar you raise helps change a life!

Can you help restock the dog food for our friends at SHS?

WE ARE LOW ON DOG FOOD! So what’s making Wi******er smile? He KNOWS our supporters will help him and his dog buddies out!
We use Purina Dog Chow, most often the chicken flavor (green bag), but we also use beef flavor or Purina One (red bag). If you could please donate some we would be so grateful! Any size bag will help feed the hungry pups!

Wi******er also wants us to share, that if you find a good deal on any brand, we will still take it. SHS also helps people in the community with our pet food pantry. The struggle is real, and sometimes you just need a little hand (or paw) up! If we can help keep dogs at home with their families we are happy to help!

One last plea from Wi******er - the dogs saw how you filled our cat shelves and the diva cats have been snickering about it! The dogs are hoping you can do the same for them so they can get some bragging rights! 🐶🐱

THANK YOU for your support!!!

A rare piece of McDonald’s history has been listed for $10,000 on Facebook Marketplace — a massive Apple Pie Tree statue weighing around 150 pounds.

The vintage character comes from the colorful McDonaldland era, when restaurants featured playground equipment and characters designed to entertain children.

The unusual collectible stands roughly 7 feet tall and features the recognizable tree design once seen at McDonald’s locations. Its seller is hoping its rarity and nostalgic appeal will attract a serious collector willing to pay the five-figure asking price.

For longtime McDonald’s fans, it’s a giant piece of fast-food nostalgia — but certainly not a small purchase.
