Thoughtful Thursday Post:
Today, we want to shine a light on a cause that holds a special place in the heart of our own Kelly Erin Terrell Knight, our Director of Regulatory Affairs. Last week, Kelly, along with her daughter, and a group of other dedicated families, took a meaningful journey to the capital of North Carolina. They met with legislators to advocate for the Children's Home Society, a nonprofit dedicated to finding loving, permanent homes for older children in the foster system. Their mission is not just a professional commitment but a deeply personal one (Kelly’s daughter is a former CHS child), as they work tirelessly to ensure every child, no matter their age, finds a family to call their own.

It is appropriate to bill a Patient Residence Code, 04, for patients who qualify for Long Term Care Pharmacy at Home level of service.

FALSE

The only appropriate Patient Residence Code for Long Term Care Pharmacy at Home level of service is 01.

The Patient Residence Code, 04, is to be utilized when adjudicating claims for patients who reside in an Assisted Living Facility or licensed Group Home. If you utilize 04 for an At Home patient, when you are audited you will have to forfeit your reimbursement as well as subject that claim to DIR Fees.

Our team had a great time at the GeriMed 2023 Conference last week in Texas! Our own Leanne Haley-Brown BS Pharm. RPh led a great CE class about Medicare Part B on Thursday morning. On Friday morning, Paul Shelton co-led the Re-Envisioning Your LTC Pharmacy Business panel discussion.
It was wonderful getting to meet so many of our partners and clients in person. Looking forward to next year already!
