The Pacific Grove Chamber of Commerce office is located in downtown Pacific Grove at 584 Central Avenue. In addition to functioning as a resource for the business community, the chamber operates two Tourist Information Centers and one informational kiosk in Pacific Grove. The tourist centers are located at 100 and 584 Central Avenue and the kiosk can be found on the corner of Lighthouse and Forest Avenues.

Chautauqua Hall Then and Now: 1885–2026

Built in 1881, Chautauqua Hall is one of Pacific Grove’s most treasured historic landmarks and the city’s oldest surviving public building. Originally nestled in the pine forest that once covered Pacific Grove, it was constructed as a gathering place for the Pacific Grove Methodist Camp Meeting, the Hall hosted lectures, concerts, worship services, community meetings, and educational programs that helped shape the early identity of Pacific Grove.

In this remarkable pair of photographs—one taken in 1885 and the other in 2026—you can see that while generations have come and gone, Chautauqua Hall continues to stand in the heart of town. The building was registered as a historical landmark in 1970 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in January 2026.
