Enjoyed the trick or treaters tonight and the smiles they put on the residents faces. ❤️ Decorated some doors, enjoyed some music, laughter, and left goodines for everyone to enjoy. Was a good evening in Memory Care. Thank you to everyone who came and brought a little happiness to the residents.

Delirium is a sudden change in behavior. Resulting in confusion and lack of awareness of the person's surroundings. The individual may mimic the signs of dementia. It can be brought on by an imbalance in the body, such as:
Low sodium levels, infection, medications, surgery, or withdrawal from a medication or alcohol.

If someone with Dementia develops Delirium, it may be dismissed as Dememtia symptoms/behaviors. Residents in long term care facilities and hospital are more at risk for developing Dilitium. Always report behavior changes to facility staff members, Dr, family ect.

World Elderly Abuse Awareness Day is June 15th. Do you know the signs of abuse in elderly? The month of June Golden Years Home Care will be sharing signs to watch for, steps to protect the elderly in your life, and how to report and be their voice. We will also be participating in an event at the Paducah Senior Center on the 14th spreading awareness of Elderly Abuse. Everyone is welcome to join us! I'll post more info next week on the event.
