OK, it’s time for CHANGE! Our quaint town is being overrun with inadequately controlled growth in housing subdivisions! Growth is good - but it needs to coincide with the ability to meet the increased demands on town government. Our police department is operating on a staffing model that was used in the ‘70’s. Officers are leaving at an alarming pace due to inadequate salaries. The fire department operates on a mostly volunteer basis with some part-time coverage during the day. Our public works department is not prepared to meet increasing demands for service. Did you know, the garbage pick up is operating in a deficit of $200,000 annually. That’s $$$ not being spent for critical infrastructure. Oh, did you know there have been multiple ‘kids’ shot in our town? Yall know! Do we just stick our heads in the sand or respond by beefing up our public safety?
