Recently my good friend and comrade in arms, Joey Skaggs was invited to The Santa Fe Film Festival, and he gave a terrific summary of his role as an artist disrupting the News Media with hilarious, plausible theatrical pranks, which "taken seriously," make a mockery of our television journalism. A documentary, Art of the Prank - the Movie, is making the rounds of international film festivals and will soon be in a theater near you! Watch out! You might just roll over with laughter! We, at Pagosa Conferences are honored to share some of Joey's comments on how he devises a media prank. Jim Walton, moderator

These photos are of Francis Huxley, direct descendant of Sir Francis Huxley, the friend of Charles Darwin and defender of the theory of evolution. Francis' life work was studying Amazon tribes, such as the Shipibo, and while doing so created some amazingly beautiful and intimate art that reflected his immersion into these stone age cultures. Pagosa Conferences may soon bring you a joyful interview of Francis by Michael Stuart Ani, one of our distinguished fellows! Francis recently made his transition into the world of the Xapori.

Pagosa Conferences was originally conceived as a forum for independent researchers in Archaeoastronomy, Alchemy, Astrology, and sundry topics that rarely get academic respect, such as for example, the esoteric properties of water. Our original conference, "From Nineveh to Chaco" brought together scholars of Ancient Near Eastern Astronomy with students of the Chaco Regional System, Ancient Peru, and Pre-Dynastic Egypt in a lively discussion of similar concerns of the power of solar worship in establishing religious rituals. We are hibernating at the moment, as our organizer, Jeweler Jim Walton is spending most of his time developing another site: www.archaeoastronomers.com (also on Facebook) We would love to get your suggestions and critiques! Our goal is to provide a visual, videographic record of our fascinating presenters on line in some sort of format such as YouTube.
