Rachel Engstrom shared this...
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
I recently encountered someone who felt they were doomed to wait until the next life to find the solution to their depression. When I introduced the possibility of experiencing the solution and healing their depression in THIS life, they became offended.
I didn't tell them what to do. I didn't even share the solution that worked for me. I didn't make promises about a miraculous timeline.
But just the IDEA that it was possible was upsetting to them. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
If I had to guess, I'd say that this person is a self-fulfilling prophecy, and if they continue to feel that way, it's not likely they will find the solution. ๐
Our thoughts shape our realities in so many specific and energetic ways that I think many of us don't fully understand. Your brain looks for what you tell it to look for. It wants to prove you right. This is an example that is the most concrete and easily understood.
If you don't believe it exists, it's near impossible for you to find it. ๐ซ
If I were to offer you a cure to any illness or ailment, and you decide "No such thing", you stay where you're at. Sick. It doesn't even mean that my cure is the answer for you or for anyone other than myself. But maybe through researching other's resources, you find something else that IS the answer for you.
I think there's a few different levels to this.
The first would be "It is not possible. ๐" Zero belief. Even if someone tells you it is possible. Whatever it is you are yearning for, there is no hope to achieve it. Kinda sad, huh? ๐ฅ
The next is "I don't know if it's possible. ๐ค" Maybe you don't know what you want. Maybe you know what you want but you haven't even considered the likelihood of it. It's a new idea. You haven't doubted it yet, but you also haven't decided that it exists.
Then "It may be possible. ๐" You've decided there's a chance. Good job! How many doors do you think have opened with this simple decision that can be made in an instant?
Last, "I know it's possible, it's out there waiting for me to find it. ๐โโ๏ธ" The moment you decide this, you may be surprised how many possibilities present themselves. ๐คฏ
As I mentioned, I'm not saying I know what the answers are for everyone and every situation. But I do know how to help people find their own answers. โ
I, personally, have seen and heard of too many miracles to believe that any kind of healing is impossible. Those same miracles are available for you to know of, too. I'm sure there's also many more I'm not aware of. ๐
So, my main point is this: doubt never creates solutions. The only purpose it serves is to keep us stuck and apathetic.
It doesn't take much energy to simply be open to possibilities. Who knows what else is out there waiting for you? ๐
And if you're wanting to comment saying something like "yeah but my situation is different and it actually IS impossible because..."
