Thanksgiving is right around the corner is the perfect time to make sure your oven is ready for holiday cooking.

**Here's what to look for:**

**1. Baking Time:** Does your cake finish close to the recommended baking time? If it's taking much longer than expected, your oven may not be maintaining the proper temperature.

**2. Uneven Baking:** Is one side darker than the other? This could be caused by uneven heat distribution, a failing heating element, or a convection fan issue.

**3. Cake Texture:** Is the outside overdone while the center is still raw or sunken? This could indicate that your oven is heating unevenly or running at the wrong temperature.
