Students, professors, and amateur athletes pay attention here. The State Department is now scouring social media posts as a way of denying or revoking visas. We have represented several people whose social media accounts have been cloned or hijacked. Double and triple check your privacy status. Make sure your social media profile reflects who you are. We had one client who posted offensive material as a young teen, never thinking that it would come back to harm him. Do not make that common mistake.

The order comes as President Trump expands deportation efforts, including of students who have spoken out in support of Palestinians during Israel’s war in Gaza.

We are frequently involved in these types of civil cases - representing both plaintiff and defendant. Let's assume, for the sake of argument, that the allegations are false. This article ignores a well publicized key fact: Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer, his estranged wife, announced they were undergoing a divorce in 2022. Most successful couples (Gaiman and Palmer fall into that category) would have hired an estate lawyer and wealth manager prior to marriage. These professionals would have created trusts for children and other legal instruments to protect their assets. Without knowing the facts in this current claim, (because complaints are just arguments and no criminal charges have been brought against either person) it appears as if the plaintiff attorneys are hedging on behalf of their client. Does naming both Gaiman and Palmer guarantee a financial outcome for the accuser? Does it allow one of the estranged parties to waive spousal privilege and testify on behalf of the plaintiff?

University of Florida men's basketball coach Todd Golden may have to go from the hardwood court to one inhabited by jurors and a judge to clear his reputation after the college investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing.

Since the pandemic, organized labor has been growing rapidly. No where has that growth been more evident than in the health care sector. Many doctors who sold their practices to private equity firms saw pay cuts and salary freezes during the pandemic. Nursing shortages became routine. And for profit hospital chains like Steward filed for bankruptcy protection. This week doctors in Massachusetts began organizing. Now, the nominee to lead HHS is thinking about changing Medicare reimbursements for doctors. Union organizers are rejoicing.

Kennedy and advisers say the system drives doctors to perform costly surgeries rather than combating chronic disease.

We strongly advise every company that relies on immigrant labor - whether it is in the agricultural sector, food processing, fishing, home construction, animal husbandry, or mining and resource management - to have a crisis management plan in place before the regulators arrive on your doorstep.

Agriculture companies and laborers fear raids; 42% of crop farmhands aren’t legally authorized to work in the U.S.

In our 10 years in business, some things have remained constant. Here are three things we tell our clients: proper due diligence can limit financial risk and, when situations spiral out of control, help clients pivot. No algorithm has been created yet that can automate thorough due diligence. A good strategic plan is key to maintaining focus. Good plans adapt; bad ones remain stagnate. Former economist John Meynard Keynes was once asked why he kept changing his positions. His response was perfect: because the facts change. Facts are not always self evident. They come to light over time. Do not squander them. Finally, vigilance is critical to protecting your brand.

I am curious to see how Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Reddit, Youtube, and Telegram co-exist with X and Truth Social under Trump 47. I think, as this article suggests, Musk and his investors have the advantage over traditional legacy media.

The world’s richest man gave his money and time in campaigning for the president-elect and now is putting in his requests for a friendlier regulatory environment.

This is just another anti-business move by a politician who claims to represent industry. If a business does EZ Match on all of their employees, then what yardstick is the state of Florida going to use to claim the right to override federal law? Will FDLE create a state database that is more efficient than Home Land Security? The state couldn't get the unemployment portal working during the pandemic. And this proposed rule wants to charge owners with a felony if the papers turn out to be fraudulent. How is this going to help the restaurant owners, the healthcare employers, the lawn care companies or the agricultural businesses? Migrant labor has always been the backbone of Florida's economy.

The Florida governor is pushing an aggressive proposal to penalize those who aid undocumented immigrants and to track costs for providing them with health care.
