Watch the Replay: HR, New Hires, and Pre-Employment Physicals. What should Human Resources Do?

As much as we think things have shifted some things stay the same, or so we assume. As our title says, assume nothing.

We hope to answer several critical questions, some of which have been posted to our clinic partner – Physicians Health Center, like:

What about doing Drug Testing or Post-offer Physicals during COVID19 – Can we still do them? How? Is it safe?

One of our recurring questions: Can we add COVID19 testing to the drug or pre-employment testing process? NO – you can’t. But I digress.

This webinar answers critical questions about Drug Testing, Physicals, and DOT Compliance during COVID19, questions like:

• What happens if the employee is due for a DOT Drug test or physical during COVID19 can we still send them for the test?
• If the employee doesn’t want to go for the DOT drug test today – will he or she be ready to return to work when we do?
• If the employee is on furlough or was laid off – do we have to retest them when we resume operations?
• Do we need to provide masks and gloves to employees who are going in for drug testing?
• How do we handle post-offer drug testing when we are working remotely? Can an employee delay their testing until we are back operational (but we want to have him or her to start working now)?
• What happens if we can’t do the random drug testing because everyone is on quarantine do I still get my drug free workplace credit?
• What if I can’t get my DOT Drug screenings done on time due to COVID19 do I get an extension?
• What if the employee claims that they got COVID19 after we sent them for random drug testing? Yikes, (maybe we can’t answer this one)

OnDemand Webinar: This webinar answers critical questions for HR about drug testing and pre-employment physicals, and DOT Compliance during COVID19.

We Developed Two Workshops Focused on Helping Organizations Manage COVID19 Reopening and Navigating the OSHA Requirement that Employers Investigate if the Employee’s Exposure to COVID19 was Work-Related.
What policies should your organization have? What does the OSHA mandate?

OSHA Revised Enforcement Issues May 19, 2020 – Because of the difficulty with determining work-relatedness, OSHA is exercising enforcement discretion to assess employers’ efforts in making work-related determinations.
Basically, you’re required to investigate if the employees COVID19 positive status is work-related

Watch The Replay: ADA + Workers Comp + Accommodations

Will anyone be the same after COVID19? This question beckons an even bolder question – What will you do to add crossfunctional advocacy and empathy to your integrated leave and disability management team?

It’s easy to forget about employees who were already being accommodated under your leave and disability policy guidelines. What happens when these employees return to work post-COVID19? What happens to new employees who are suffering silently with COVID19 anxiety and stress?

Are you training your team to understand the demands that returning employees will face as they reintegrate into your workforce? What training does your HR team need today to prepare for disability accommodations post-COVID19? How will you handle the demands on your integrated leave and disability policies?

COVID19 will show the cracks in your Integrated Absence and Disability Program (IADP), so the big question is your IADP truly integrated? Where are your gaps? Where are your opportunities to improve the disability management process for employees?

We will tackle bold questions like:

• Who is reaching out to employees with documented work limitations now, letting them know they haven’t and won’t be forgotten?
• What type of words are those who interact with these employee’s using? Empathy, calming? Reassuring? Have they been advised that current documentation will be needed? Is telemedicine an option to expedite the receipt
• Is your current staffing sufficient? Are there enough people to handle the number of Interactive Dialogue’s necessary to determine the types of accommodations needed?

Watch the Replay: Telemedicine and Workers' Compensation

COVID19 Presents a sea-change in the way we administer workers’ compensation health delivery. This is an opportunity to change the “way we always did it” to embrace a new view of what a primary care visit can look like for injured employees. In this webinar, we will explore treatment options in the wake of COVID19 – Challenges with deploying Telemedicine and how you can make this an option for your injured employees. We will also review mistakes made when Telemedicine was deployed in health care and how to avoid the same mistakes in workers’ compensation.

Key Questions we will answer during the webinar:

How do you implement telemedicine in workers’ compensation?

What questions should you ask when setting up Telemedicine and sourcing a vendor for your injured employees?

What matrix should be tracked when utilizing Telemedicine?

Can you effectively treat injured employees who are not onsite and who aren’t seeing a doctor?

How do you diagnose someone’s condition if they are not in the office being physically evaluated by a treating doctor?

Can you actually conduct a physical therapy visit without touching the patient?
